Carabiner lock hook with threaded
thingiverse
Version A is put through its paces, but without the rings on the right side. Version B is tested with a change in thread size for the small threaded gate to 13mm, resulting in a 12mm print. A warning note: "this is not a safe hook to lift people or heavy loads!" A Carabiner with threaded components is shown in pictures, with only two versions being thoroughly tested. Version A is straightforward and takes only two steps to mount. Alternative designs featuring one, two, and three rings are also available for this version, but they have yet to be put through their paces. After the print is complete, cut off any supports. The safety lock hole and gate axis may initially be a bit stubborn to turn when inserted together, but simply insert them while using pliers (be gentle on the part). As you keep the gate axis in place, turn the lock until they become easy to turn by hand. A crucial reminder: avoid cleaning or drilling the gate hole with a 3mm drill bit. This hole is specifically designed for the small stick without glue, and should be secured using a hammer and gentle taps as shown in step 2 (orange parts). A quick test has been conducted with a 14Kg load, and the hook seems to hold up just fine. However, it's worth noting that PLA under stress and temperature tends to bend or break. To avoid this issue, do not print the parts in a vertical position; instead, print them as they appear in the files (horizontal). See the picture below for reference.
