I designed these carabiners to be uniquely simple and functional. Rather than attempting to incorporate a complex living hinge mechanism, I oriented the weak axis transversely to the conventional load-bearing axis of carabiners. As a result, they won't malfunction under typical usage, but instead open effortlessly by bending the tab sideways.
