The spring design demands that the filament must be relatively pliable and elastic. Design files are linked below for anyone who wishes to adjust the spring's thickness or tolerances. Unfortunately, Colorfabb PLA/PHA isn't quite elastic enough for this spring, but regular PLA is less flexible than the Colorfabb option, which works well. A new version of the design is available, and it should perform better with more brittle plastics.
