As the picture shows, I intended to print this at a .32 layer height because it looks cool from my perspective, and then I spray paint it with gold before rubbing it with a dry cloth while it's still wet to achieve this effect. I made this carabao ring/slide for my son because he lost his carabao ring/slide in school. The official neckerchief slide takes the form of a wooden Carabao head. The carabao is an animal used as a burden, highly valued by Filipino farmers for plowing and harrowing rice fields and transporting farm produce to market. Its characteristics represent the qualities and values that Filipinos appreciate highly. As such, it's regarded as the national animal of the Philippines. This characteristic also typifies what B.P. calls "good character," one who uses their full potential to render selfless service to everyone. To a Filipino, the carabao symbolizes humility, patience, industry, strength, and persistence - characteristics held highly by every Filipino. Its ability to adapt to varying circumstances and accomplish its task reminds us of the courage of Filipinos to face and triumph over insurmountable odds for the greater good of all. Being a gentle, lovable animal, the carabao exemplifies the kindness, friendliness, and hospitality of Filipinos. In response to environmental preservation efforts, BSP uses recycled plastic bold cast (PBC) materials in its carabao slide.
