This is a monitor mount for a four-camera vehicle-mounted system, where all four cameras record constantly. The system was purchased on eBay from a listing that read: "9" Quad Monitor with DVR 4 x Side Cameras Safety System for Truck Trailer RV." I installed it on my wheel-lift wrecker, which is used in my business. The constant recording gives me the security of knowing what happens is available to show police or judges later if needed. Since the cabover truck I have doesn't require a rearview mirror with all four cameras present, using the mirror as a mount point seemed like an obvious choice. However, keep in mind that many interior roof-mounted rearview mirrors are designed to break away in a crash for safety reasons. Adding the weight of the monitor may necessitate disabling this feature. This is a highly specialized product, so it's unlikely many will find it useful; nonetheless, if you do require such a thing, this is an excellent model that should work on numerous mirrors. The lower side has a place to secure it with zip ties for added stability. It's worth noting that mine has been in use for months without the zip ties and remains fine. This is an ABS model, which is essential due to the high temperatures inside the cab during summer months. Using PLA would be unwise as it will sag under the weight of the monitor when the interior temperature rises.
