Car Stereo Case (Connects2 + MP3 Module)

The Civic Mk8 is missing aux as standard, which can be frustrating. A common solution is to install a "Connects2", but it doesn't come with USB or SD card reader. Mine only had an RCA connection. I decided to merge a module with the Connects2 to get rid of cables and charging issues. I wasn't sure if it would work, but I didn't want an iPod dangling in my car. The whirring noise when accelerating seemed related to RPM frequencies picked up through the cable/iPod. Possibly from poking around for a 5v source and wiring the module to it (check the picture). I checked for parasitic draw with ignition off, and there isn't any. I doubt it pulls much current anyway. The case fits perfectly inside the console pocket of my Civic MK8. When the lid is down, no one can see it. The module is secured with 2x M3 bolts (10mm). Different models may have Connects2 boards with varying dimensions. Use small screws or self-tapping ones to mount the board, but it might sit somewhat loose. The case lid simply clicks on top and stays in place thanks to tabs.
