CAR Roof bag DIY Horizontal hook

Hi everyone ! This is 3D printed hook for homemade Horizontal Rod designed specifically for FIAT PANDA 2004 series roof rod, but can fit on other cars too - just check compatibility with your vehicle. This hook can actually hold up to 50 Kg in the roof bag and more (in the picture, I'm inside weighing 59 Kg ). With a solidwork study of resistance, the whole structure made from aluminium rectangular profile (Alu PAF) can support over 300 Kg, but I won't try that much. Theoretically speaking, it can handle even more. I tested this hook at 20 Km/h to 120 km/h with 40 Kg inside and performed a quick brake test to see if it would break - nothing broke and nothing moved even 1 mm. I highly recommend using ABS / ABS-PC / NYLON for this project due to their high resistance, nearly no flexibility, and high melting point, which is essential in various climatic conditions. It's also crucial to apply a smooth heat treatment to the pieces for smoothing surfaces and limiting the possibility of fissures over time or with brutal use. To create this project, you will need: - 8 M8 L90 H/CHC screws - 8 M8 large washers - 4 M8 bolts - 4 NYLSTOP bolts - 12 M6 L50 H/CHC screws - 12 M6 NYLSTOP bolts - Anti-slip tape - 2 Aluminium rectangular tubes (48/32) with a thickness of 4mm, approximately 1200 mm long (for my FIAT PANDA 2004). Be sure to check the length for your vehicle. Warning: For safety reasons 1. Don't print this hook if you have a floppy or sloppy 3D printer, as it's crucial to maintain the quality of what you print, and your life and others may be at risk if something breaks on the road. 2. Take serious concern about the entire description of this project. 3. Be strict about the quality of what you print. 4. If you're skilled and have a small butane firetorch, try to apply heat treatment, as it prevents future cracks and smooth surfaces. 5. All parameters mentioned here are functional for my car; if you alter anything, I can't guarantee the same results. 6. This is my project - I'd be grateful if you took pictures of your travels with this hook around the world! 7. Please don't sell this project with any kind of profit! It's designed to help, not to make a business out of it. Important details: - The weight I've tested was 58 Kg while stationary and approximately 40Kg in motion. - My roof bag is rated for 50 kg maximum in motion. Please don't exceed this or conduct multiple tests before using the hook on vacation. - I'm not responsible for your actions with this project, so please be cautious. Steps to create this hook: 1. Ensure that the parameters and quotations fit your needs. 2. Print the parts and acquire the Alu PAF and screws/bolts needed. 3. Apply heat treatment to smooth surfaces and prevent fissures over time or with brutal use. 4. Place non-slip tape in the inside position where it will grip on the longitudinal rod, holding the structure in place while driving and limiting vibration/slipping. 5. Fix the four hooks on the longitudinal rod, positioning them symmetrically according to your roof bag (I checked every movement and distance for perfect symmetry). 6. With a pen, draw the front/back M6 holes position on the Alu PAF and drill them. 7. Secure all screws and bolts. 8. Attach your roof bag securely. 9. Enjoy a beer or tea - they're precious! If you have any questions, feel free to ask! I'd love it if you shared pictures of your travels with this hook.
