Car Mounting hook - Car cover string's end
thingiverse
My father-in-law asked for assistance because the mounting hook on his car cover had broken. When he opened the rear door, the cover wouldn't go up. He tried finding a spare part but couldn't find one anywhere! Buying a full set seemed like the obvious solution. He also wasn't happy with the bungling job they did on the end of the string. I made a sketch and came up with something to help him out. Check out the attached video to see everything, including the final assembly and part installation! The STL file I attached has been upgraded because I added breakage to improve the shape of the part. This mounting hook can be used on any car with an 8.4mm diameter counterpart. I even tried it on my Suzuki and it worked great! I also prepared a g-code file using S3D for ABS printing. The settings are: layer height 0.1, infill 100%, nozzle temperature 245°C, bed temperature 100°C, no support or cooling needed. I used these settings to print the part on my Ender 3 and covered it perfectly. The print speed was 50mm/s.
