I know that on sweltering days with the bonnet scorching hot, too, I'm aware that the model could distort. So, I annealed the model by oven baking it, which is supposed to give it resistance to this problem. Preheating the oven to 110 degrees Celsius, I turned it off once heated. Then, I placed a glass bed plate with the model still on it, including its support, in the oven. Leaving it for an hour was the next step. Once that was done, I cleaned the support off carefully. Using a heat gun, I warmed the base slightly and bent it to match the curved shape of the bonnet. Painting it silver enamel and applying several coats of UV varnish followed next. I purchased magnets from eBay (20x10x2 mm). Gluing two magnets into the slot underneath the mascot was the next step. The magnets seem to work fantastically at keeping her firmly attached to the bonnet, even while driving at 110 kilometers per hour.
