Requirements: • Dremel (with 3/4-12 threads - this could easily be edited in the Fusion360 file) • 1.5mm end mill/milling bit • 1.5mm drill bit • Drill (to clean out the small hole in the Top) • Various screws This is a car key copier that I made in Fusion 360. Here's a YouTube video with a time-lapse of me using it to cut my key: https://youtu.be/T9IhsEQ9sZ8 There are 5 parts to this and I'm including the Fusion 360 .f3d file for anyone who needs to make a remix. I would NOT recommend any support. It's not required and if used could make poor fitment. For assembly you'll need: • 4 screws to mount the Top to the Frame. I used wood screws that were 40mm long x 4mm diameter. • 2 screws to mount the Clamp to the Sled. I used sheet metal screws that were 7mm long x 3mm diameter. • 4 screws to mount the Frame to a wooden board so it's secure. I used wood screws that were 25mm long x 4.5mm diameter. Important: 1: Before you assemble it all, take your drill and 1.5mm drill bit and drill out the hole in the Top in the thing that looks like a cow's teat to clean it out. Then remove the drill bit and insert it into that hole so the solid shank end hangs down. Be careful not to bend and break the drill bit, they are fragile when they are this small! This will be a little hard to insert but use pliers and twist it in there. You do not want it too easy to insert because it needs to be secure and not move when you're cutting your key. When you're done, use pliers and untwist it to pull it out. 2: This jig requires some pretty good accuracy. You want the Sled and Track to slide smoothly but not wobble at all. Any well tuned printer can get perfect results IF you do the following: Print the Track and if it needs to be tweaked change the Y scale only up or down a tiny bit until the Sled fits inside perfectly. Then see how it fits into the frame dovetails. If that needs to be tweaked change the X scale only until that fits perfectly. Alternatively you could shim it with aluminum foil.
