Car Dash Phone Holder
thingiverse
I crafted a phone holder to ensure my phone rests firmly and stably against the stock stereo without taking up valuable space. A cheap upgrade that pairs well with a Bluetooth dongle for the car, allowing me to enjoy GPS, music, and more on the go. I identified a narrow gap between the stereo and the bezel, which I capitalized on to create this design. My setup involves a 2008 Subaru Impreza paired with a Samsung Galaxy S6 equipped with a Spigen Slim Armor case. For those interested in creating their own custom solution, I've included a Tinkercad link so you can modify it to fit your specific needs. I'm currently working on an upgraded version that will include a wireless Qi charger for added convenience. You can access the initial design here: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/aoBjYd8W0W2 Later, I designed a top piece that slides in above the stereo, allowing me to easily switch between portrait and landscape orientations. You can find this updated design at: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/0yLZ8ccCKhr I've since remixed this mount to incorporate a wireless Qi charger, which you can learn more about here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1474388 A fellow user, u/Sebastian84, shared that by extending the width to 162mm, it should accommodate an iPhone 6 Plus. Print Settings: * Printer: Makerfarm Prusa i3v * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: 0.2 * Infill: Not a critical factor * Notes: The base is only three layers thick, so orient the infill at a 45-degree angle from the front edge for added stability. Remember to use ABS plastic since this will be exposed to the heat of your car's interior.
