Car CD slot magnetic phone holder
thingiverse

Phone Holder for CD Slot
I needed a phone holder that fit my needs, but couldn't find one that worked for me. So I designed and built one myself with some prototypes and modifications to other models. This magnetic phone holder uses a piece of metal in the back of the phone case to hold it in place. The magnet holder can hold multiple magnets, so I added a bit of cardboard to fill the extra space. I sourced strong magnets from old hard disk drives that were retired from desktop computers.
Assembly Instructions
To assemble the holder, I used super glue to join all the parts together. I also glued bits of felt to the stoppers of the parts that touch the front of the CD slot to prevent scratching. Additionally, I lubricated the nut thread with vaseline for smooth operation.
Printing Tips
For best results, print this holder with Petg or ABS material due to potential heat exposure from a parked car. I had a prototype printed in PLA, but the ball joint became loose on a warm day while parked in the sun.
