Car Cassette Player PopSocket Holder
thingiverse
Since older cars rarely use their cassette players, it's an ideal spot to install a popsocket phone mount. I've designed other variations of car-friendly popsocket holders, but they were either flimsy or warped over time when attached to the dashboard heater grill. This holder is specifically designed to be sturdy and capable of securely holding a smartphone in one position. The gap for the popsocket was carefully crafted to fit snugly, minimizing movement once it's in place. **Important Safety Note:** When installing this mount in your car, first insert it without the rod to ensure the desired placement. As a 2004 Honda Pilot owner, I designed this holder to minimize obstructions when the phone is in position, only partially blocking the center console volume knob. Since I use steering wheel controls and my knob is broken anyway, this wasn't an issue for me. To avoid any difficulties, insert the rod carefully after checking the placement, as it will be a tight fit. However, once securely clicked into place, it becomes extremely challenging to remove (scale down slightly if you prefer more clearance). There are two versions of this mount available: I recommend printing the v2 version for its slightly refined tolerances and improved fit. The original design is included for reference only, as it has an extremely snug fit that adds rigidity – but I see no need to remove it from its spot (v1 pictured).
