Originally designed as the Crablogger base control vehicle in the 1966 Thunderbirds episode Path of Destruction, the van was repurposed as the Spectrum ambulance in the subsequent Gerry Anderson production Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, initially used to retrieve Captain Scarlet from a crash site in the episode Winged Assassin, and later deployed again in the episode Treble Cross.
