Captain Rex RangeFinder Articulate
thingiverse
This remix combines two rangefinder models with a unique twist. The base and screw rotate 45 degrees while the back remains fixed to the helmet. Both the base and back feature a locking mechanism that prevents them from falling off at 45-degree angles. Print support is only necessary for the back and small sections of the headpiece. Optional features include a circular hole in the base and a cylindrical attachment point on the back, which can be used with foam inserts. The assembly process is straightforward; simply glue the screw to the base at an angle that feels most comfortable. I printed my model using ABS plastic, but other materials can also be used. The same gluing technique applies to connecting the base to the stalk and the stalk to the headpiece.
