This tool helps you open doors without touching the handle, reducing your chance of coming into contact with a virus like SARS-CoV-2. You can find many designs online, but most are simple hooks that slide off European door handles. My design takes a different approach: it goes over the handle, just as if you were grabbing it yourself. The hook part prevents it from sliding off, and you can use it as a regular hook too. This design has several advantages: It allows for natural usage. It provides protection by enclosing the handle. It offers multiple uses. However, there are some drawbacks to consider: The tool is bulky. A larger surface area may come into contact with viruses, requiring frequent disinfection. Perhaps using a Kleenex is even easier.
