Captain America Shield (wearable)
thingiverse
This is my rendition of the Captain America shield, modeled to precision both front and back along with the necessary connectors and buckles for wear. To create the far edges of the shield, you'll need to bend a 1/8 inch wire into a "U" shape - |___|- A groove will be routed out on the main shield for the wire ends, which will then be secured in place by gluing the Strap_Base over it, allowing for some degree of pivoting movement. Printing the 1 section file five times and gluing them together yields a complete Main shield that can be augmented with additional parts to facilitate wear. The exact dimensions of the shield fluctuate from prop to prop and movie to movie. I've designed this one at 26 inches in diameter by 3.5 inches in depth, which appears to be a suitable wearable size for printing on my CR-10 S4 without excessive difficulty. I'm currently test-printing this design and will post an update if any issues arise.
