Captain America Shield - Movie Replica

I've just completed my newest venture - a replica of Captain America's movie shield! To accurately determine measurements and materials needed, I began by constructing the shield in Autodesk Inventor 2013. Over the coming weeks, I will create the actual shield to be ready for the film's sequel release. Keep an eye out for project updates. Recently (3/6/14 8:00pm), a spun aluminum shield blank arrived after being ordered online a month ago. The polishing and sanding process took four days, removing surface scratches. Acetone was applied to the surface for shine and cleanliness prior to painting. Now, the shield is taped in preparation for a morning paint session. Further updates will be posted soon.
