Here's a 3D model of Captain America, courtesy of the cadnav website (http://www.cadnav.com/3d-models/model-45311.html). The original file was in MAX format, which I exported to STL. To make it printable with high-resolution printers using 0.2 or 0.1 mm resolution and a 0.4 to 0.2mm nozzle, I modified the model in ZBrush. One of my first changes was replacing the head to accommodate the eyes. The original model had eyelashes that got lost when converting it to STL (or OBJ), which blocked the eyes from view. To address this issue, I also replaced the shield with a new design featuring a star pattern. Most importantly, I thickened the shield to ensure it would print smoothly on printers using 0.4mm nozzles at 0.2mm resolution. The arm holding the shield underwent similar modifications for the same reason. To enhance the overall appearance of the model, I added scales to the armor and widened some grooves so they'd be visible when printed at a small scale. Finally, I modified the feet to make them flat, allowing the model to stand perfectly without the base. This change also helped stabilize the model while printing by eliminating support structures beneath its feet. I created two versions with slightly different bases, along with an additional version that can be printed separately from the base for easier painting. The bases feature pegs to simplify assembly of the figurine, and a gap exists between the pegs and holes in the feet so gluing them together won't be too difficult. Please note that you'll need to use supports when printing this model, as most slicer programs can automatically generate them.
