Captain America's shield comes to life! I picked up some USB LEDs and had an extra motherboard USB cable, so I decided to create something for my desktop. Parts: Lights: https://www.amazon.com/DROK-Efficient-Brightest-Emergency-Decoration/dp/B00TGTB4HO/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1543759343&sr=8-7&keywords=usb+LED (Note: These are not the exact lights I used, so you may need to adjust the fit a bit. I ordered mine from a Chinese site that takes months to arrive.) Cable: https://www.amazon.com/USB-Internal-Motherboard-Header-Cable/dp/B01MQR5BL8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1543759427&sr=8-3&keywords=internal+usb+cable You can buy cables with a port already attached, but I snipped the end off mine and soldered it directly to the LED. I printed the shield at 0.1 layer, 15% concentric infill. The wall was printed at 0.1 layer and 15% grid infill. The stand was printed at 0.3 layer and 10% infill. The Ice effect I wanted in blue, but all I had was clear. So, I snipped about a quarter inch off a blue Sharpie refill and ran some filament through it. It didn't give me the gradient I expected, but the light shining through the blue does the trick. I printed it at 0.3 layer and 15% infill. I sanded down the start with my Dremel and then painted the shield. The rest I just assembled and added a little hot glue to hold it together. The holes are designed for a 120mm fan slot, but mine ended up being a bit tight, so it's just sitting there. It looks good enough that you could display it on your desk as is.
