We gathered sand from three deserts in Namibia, then carefully poured it into identical glass jars that had once held Nutella chocolate spread. Each jar now proudly displayed vibrant designs that perfectly fit on top. The sand inside was kept separate from the designs by a circular piece of transparent acetate, which we glued to the inside of each jar. The colorful scenes depicted on the jars were designed to remind us of the sands' fascinating origins - our thrilling horseback ride through the Namib desert and the haunting beauty of Sossusvlei's dead trees.
