I am showcasing the great oak beetle, a frequent inhabitant of forests worldwide. This beetle has a strong affinity for wood, which explains why I discovered one nestled within a piece of ash. The insect was situated in its small hook-shaped burrow. To recreate this species accurately, I carefully carved an image of the beetle onto a wooden surface, incorporating its distinctive large antennas into the design.
