Situated in northern Sardinia, Italy, at coordinates 41°14'37"N 9°08'39", the Capo Testa Lighthouse was constructed in 1845 to provide navigational assistance in the treacherous waters of the Strait of Bonifacio. This lighthouse safeguards the narrow strait between Sardinia and Corsica, where sailors face sudden, strong winds, powerful currents, and towering granite cliffs that pose a significant threat to night navigation. The lighthouse's tower stands at 23 meters tall and, due to its position on the cliffside, emits a light visible up to 17 nautical miles away. The lantern utilizes Fresnel prisms and lenses along with various types of lights to generate a powerful, discernible beam. The structure features a detailed landscape, with buildings slightly closer to the cliff edge than in reality, while the surrounding area measures approximately 150 meters x 150 meters for sculpted land and 520 meters x 335 meters for the flat sea expanse.
