Following the Last Supper, Jesus retreats to the Garden of Gethsemane for a poignant prayer with his loyal disciples. Consumed by apprehension over the impending physical torment and demise that he is aware will soon befall him, Jesus implores God to grant him reprieve from this daunting experience. Regaining his composure, Jesus stoically accepts his fate. Meanwhile, Judas, who has secretly betrayed him, enters the garden. However, Jesus willingly surrenders himself to the soldiers equipped with spears that have arrived to apprehend him. As soon as he reveals his identity, the soldiers recoil in shock. On the left side of the reverse section, the disciples hastily flee in a state of panic.
