Cape Hatteras Lighthouse Desktop Model Kit

When I was a kid, we always went on a family vacation to the Outer Banks in North Carolina every single year. I had a blast seeing the iconic lighthouses there, and each year I brought home a souvenir model of a different one - I finally completed my collection years ago. I thought that Cape Hatteras, the most famous NC lighthouse and my absolute favorite, would be the perfect structure to create for the SeeTheWorld challenge. Over the past month, I designed and developed a multi-piece 3D model of the lighthouse from scratch, tailored specifically to be completely 3D printer friendly. The kit consists of 11 STL files, with one that requires you to print 16 copies. The largest single piece measures 182mm in height, equivalent to around 7.2 inches, and the assembled model stands at an impressive 234mm tall, or approximately 9.2 inches. I always intended to paint mine, but you can choose to leave yours unfinished or use different colors of filament if you prefer. My printing, assembling, and painting process is thoroughly detailed in the instructions and accompanying GIF animations, so if you want to create one just like my photograph, you definitely can! (I took that photo of my finished lighthouse at Shark Fin Cove in Davenport, California.)
