Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor v1.2 - Roof Remix for changed JST
thingiverse
I modified the design to make it more rain-resistant. To achieve this, I had to swap out the JST connector on the sensor's PCB with a new one. I used a straight JST and soldered it directly onto the board. It's possible that you could bend the original JST into shape to fit, but I haven't tried that. You can also print the "Remix_Vale_01-Unterteil.stl" file using a resin printer to make it 100% waterproof, or use PETG with 100% infill, which should do the job just as well. The green color on the PCB? I used some of my girlfriend's nail polish to secure the cut edges of the PCB parts and prevent moisture from getting in. This helped keep them flat and protected from damage. I hope my modifications are helpful. You can find the original design here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2952434
