Cap Mold Jig for Dice Making

Cap Mold Jig for Dice Making

thingiverse

This is a jig to make silicone molds for dice. There are two versions of the base, one has the d4, d6, d8 etc callouts and the other does not. If you have a high quality printer you should be able to do the callouts no problem, otherwise I would recommend the non-callout. The goal was to create cap molds using as little of silicone mold mix as possible. As with any mold, there is a lot of work going on with it. I used playdough to hold these down which worked well enough, mixed up the mold stuff and poured then put into the pressure pot. After they cured, I took them out, using a butter knife as leverage, and cleaned them up like normal. Then I put them back in the jig upside down to make the cap. The d20 was too thick so I had to use some tape to make it a little deeper. I think if I had not made it so thick it would have been fine. Note* The files are non-commercial. You cannot take these files and sell them, you cannot modify the file to sell them either, nor can you sell the prints made from the file. You can however still sell dice made from the molds. This jig is free for use by all.
