Cap (for round plant glass / green house)
thingiverse
I am making a cap for round glasses to create a self-watering greenhouse that's affordable and easy to print. You can buy similar caps at large Swedish furniture retailers or online stores. The principle behind this design is simple: humidity stays trapped inside the glass because the top is almost sealed, except for a small hole in the center that allows fresh air to prevent mold from growing. So far, it seems to be working well. This cap is ideal for carnivorous plants and other species that thrive in humid environments. I used peat, potting soil, and moss as substrate and filled it with water until everything was saturated. Now, I don't need to water my plants for weeks, and they remain wet due to the room's climate. You can place this system on your window ledge in a sunny spot. To print this cap, use transparent filament or white material - the result will be milky anyway. I made the design thin so that as much light as possible enters, yet it's stable enough for its purpose. This model is intended for glasses with an inner diameter of 10 cm, but you can adjust it to suit your needs.
