Cap for NEMA L14-30 plug
thingiverse
A protective cap for pins on NEMA L14-30 locking plugs is designed to safeguard against accidental bending or damage during storage. These types of plugs are commonly used in emergency generator cables and charging cables like mine for a Volt. The plug itself spends a lot of time stored away, making it easy for the pins to get bent or damaged. This cap fits well on my two plugs but seems to have some variation among different manufacturers. A Fusion 360 source file is included so you can make adjustments if needed or just tinker with it. If you come up with a useful modification, please share alike! An update was added on July 16th, 2018: Files in version 14 were made available with a hole for attaching a lanyard or string to the cord, preventing the cap from getting lost.
