Canopy for X Frame Quadcopter
thingiverse
I designed this canopy at the request of a local FPV pilot, and it's specifically intended to be printed with flexible filament (check print settings for details). This X-style racing frame canopy should work regardless of prop size (4" or 5") and will fit on just about any frame. The canopy comes in two parts. Part 1: pod_base.stl - this base fits over a single stack FC/PDB/ESC, with notches cut out for wires and an ESC plug routing out the back. Part 2: pod_camera.stl - this part fits a runcam swift or similar size camera, accommodating cameras up to 24x24mm square (give or take a few mm). It's also designed to hold an Eachine VTX03, fitting snugly and providing access to press the button. Instructions: 1. Mount your PDB using small spacers for about 16mm total height; you can go smaller or larger, but the pod base may not fit as well. 2. Solder all wires (ESC, Battery Connector, Motors, Receiver, Video Transmitter, Camera) before proceeding. 3. Slide the canopy over the screws and tuck in all wires and other components to keep them under the canopy; route the video transmitter and FPV camera wires. 4. Apply glue on the Eachine vtx03 antenna area before placing it in the canopy to ensure secure seating; you can also use hot glue or Shoegoo for extra stability. 5. Screw the FPV camera into place from the sides, adjusting its angle up to 60 degrees if needed; use spacers if screws are loose. 6. Place the canopy on top of the base and secure it with m3 lock nuts. Enjoy your new canopy setup!
