Canon USB Battery-Dummy
thingiverse
A rechargeable battery dummy that replaces the NB-11L battery pack for the camera. This allows the camera to be powered by a USB-phone charger, making it ideal for extended photo shoots when using CHDK. The design is inspired by this Instructable: http://www.instructables.com/id/USB-Powered-Camera-PowerShot-Battery-Hack/?ALLSTEPS Note: Using a PC-USB port may not be effective since it only supplies up to 500mA, which might not meet the camera's power requirements. Not all USB-phone chargers will work either; some with an output voltage lower than 5V won't activate the lens motors. Post-Production: A standard 1N400X diode is used in this project. The contacts are crafted from small-wire ferrules, which are inserted, flattened, bent at a 90-degree angle, glued into place, and then trimmed flush.
