Canon Speedlight 580EX II Flash Diffusers
thingiverse
This Canon Speedlight 580EX II flash attachment comprises of two types; a triangular and rectangular diffuser. The triangle version maximizes light diffusion due to its larger surface area, while the rectangular one is compact and portable. Both versions fit tightly on the flash and can be adjusted up or down. Autodesk Inventor files are provided for printing. For the rectangular version, Cura's default settings work well. However, for the triangular version, set zero bottom layers and infill. Suggested 3D print settings include layer resolution of 0.1 to 0.2mm, single wall/shell/parameter, and using Joris setting in Cura. Despite a possible slit at the top of the triangular version, flash performance remains unaffected. Printing was successfully done using 2-year-old MakerBot clear PLA filament on an Ultimaker.
