canon NB-5L Battery pack shell
thingiverse
This shell enables you to connect an external power source. I've checked the fit but haven't completed construction yet. Consider using a supply like this: http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/2101. Wire it out to a wall wart or a larger battery. Utilize CHDK (http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK) to set up a motion-sensitive HD security camera and an Eye-Fi card for remote network upload. To install, place copper strips as contacts; refer to the cutout layout: Left [+] [R] [-] Right. For proper functioning, connect [R] to [-] with a 10k resistor to simulate a thermistor that a regular battery would have. Adjust the power supply to approximately 4V. This hack has been detailed in various articles, including this one: http://tinkerlog.com/2012/05/13/battery-adapter-for-canon-powershot-sx200/.
