The Canon MX870 multifunction printer/scanner features a tray designed for guiding receipts through its auto document feeder (ADF). Although the scanner has side guides that extend to accommodate different paper sizes, they do not retract small enough to maintain receipts properly, often causing them to twist and jam the ADF. To alleviate this issue, a specialized guide is available for use in the scanner's tray, which keeps standard-sized receipts in place. While the scanner may still occasionally jam with crumpled receipts, its occurrence significantly reduces without the guide.
