Canon EOS M tough lens cap
thingiverse
I picture this design fitting many canon kit type lenses on more cameras than just the EOS M series alone, probably including the rebels and 7D models as well. The pictures I uploaded were of a lower poly version, but this one is much smoother. I used the excellent Foxsmart TPU (Sainsmart is also great and available on Amazon) for the print, which makes this cap nearly indestructible in that filament. You could take it off the camera and stomp on it; I have done so, and it will simply bounce back into shape while being very rigid at a 20% infill setting. It stays on more reliably than the stock Canon caps but you may want to make the base protecting the lens thicker. I made mine about an 1/8" thick just to cut down on bulk, but for more protection of the glass you could do more. The file is linked right here on Tinkercad so you can easily make that change yourself. Use this thing at your own risk; I don't guarantee your lens won't get damaged. If you're clueless on Tinkercad just watch a YouTube tutorial - it's super easy, even 6-year-olds and 75-year-olds who barely send emails can use it to print stuff.
