Canon EOS / EF adapter for Logitech C260 webcamera

An adapter to connect a Logitech C260 webcam directly to Canon EOS (EF/EF-S) lenses is available for use. It replaces the front panel of the camera. To make it easier to create similar adapters for other mounts, I have included separate files for just the front panel of C260 and just the female Canon EOS adapter. Both STL and original SketchUp files are provided. When using the SketchUp file, be sure to explode all parts at the end and remove two internal surfaces (for example, by running it through a Solid Inspector plugin). Due to an imprecise measurement of the distance from C260's sensor (accurate to approximately 0.25mm) as well as possible inaccuracies in individual printer printing heights (up to around 0.2mm), this adapter may not be suitable for wide angle lenses without some fine tuning, which is quite sensitive to register distance accuracy. Focal lengths of 50mm or greater should work fine. It works perfectly with my Canon 70-200 F4L. This modification might also be compatible with similar Logitech cameras such as C270 - you'll need to test it yourself. The main goal of this modification is to enable the use of C260 for astrophotography. I can now attach the camera to my Canon 70-200 f4L lens and use it as an auto-guiding camera for my 6" Celestron reflector, or attach it to the Celestron using an EOS-telescope adapter. In this case, the camera can be used either as an autoguider with my telescope serving as a guide or used for taking Moon/planetary shots in the prime focus of my telescope. To print it, I used Cura, with the EOS adapter side down, using "supports everywhere" option, 0.2mm layers, and 100% infill. Be sure to use a slower printing speed for both outer and inner walls. It's a good idea at the end to sand the inside of the adapter, then paint it black using acrylic paint - this will eliminate any stray light.
