CANON Eos 50e Door Latch
thingiverse
This little guy breaks very easily whenever the camera is dropped on the floor. I had to create a model because the replacement is apparently out of stock everywhere online. The metallic contact has to be removed from the old part and glued to the 3D printed one, or the camera will not be able to detect that the door is open. Some geometrical features related to the return spring are modeled in this design, but they are not necessary. The latch has to be opened/closed manually. It will click and stay in position. For this reason, the grip used to open/close is moved to a more comfortable position (I apologize for my inability to explain this better; please compare with the real object to understand what I am talking about). I printed and tested this on my camera. It worked well with very few size compensations. If your printer is well calibrated, it should work well for you too. EDIT 14 September 2019 Upon user request, I added two new versions (V2 and V3) that include two features missing in the original model: the two alignment/fixation pins for the metallic contacts (V2) and the spring catch (V3). I doubt that V3 can be easily printed because of the new features' small size and because the spring catch extends below the main base surface. In fact, this is the very reason I excluded them in the original model. I look forward to seeing if anyone manages to print it. Good luck, and please keep in mind that I didn't even consider trying to print it! Since I had to guess some measures, I decided to add the STEP file to help you tweak the model, in case of problems. Please let me know what changes, if any, you introduced to get the thing to work.
