Canon EF-M Lens Mount Module
thingiverse
Here's an OpenSCAD module, including STL files for a Canon EF-M lens mount that interfaces with the camera's side. Initially designed for making adapters linking my Canon EOS-M camera to telescopes. Ideally this code serves as useful guidance for other makers desiring customized EF-M connectors. The design integrates a pocket for the locking mechanism allowing for secure attachment, identical to traditional lenses. Slightly tapered bayonet tabs optimize fit with cameras and avoid cleanup tasks during printing. An electrical conduit on the mount prevents pin obstruction which often hindered previous adapters when it remained pushed-in. A compact orientation marker is present on the camera attachment but a larger identifier should probably be incorporated for enhanced user alignment in assembly of connectors to telescope adapters or custom camera accessories. The Canon EF-M lens mount module was sparked by an EF lens design on thingiverse (thing:10829), albeit modifications were necessary because of distinct structural requirements. However, the rotational partial extrusion code borrowed from a 3D modeler's website, (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:34027) facilitated creation of these custom, angled tabs for secure bayonet locking in telescope-camera integrations and accessories
