I created a dovetail mounting ring for a Canon EF 70-300 mm f/4.0-5.6 v1 lens and a mounting bracket for a targeting laser for an L-shaped mount, to be used in my astrophotography setup, to ballance out the front heavy camera on the tripod. The targeting laser on the L-bracket mount is used to target stars, that are hard to see in the camera view. The lens has no dedicated space to fit a mounting ring, so i had to create a shell that leaves space for the embossed lock and stabilizer switches. In doing so the shell got something to hold itself in place and made the ring feel very rigid and sturdy. The targeting laser bracket is a snug fit, slide on model, because it does not have to deal with a lot of weight.
