Canons (possibly naval), made of iron, approximately from the 17th to the 18th centuries, located about 5.5 meters deep near the entrance of the Ilhéu de Vila Franca do Campo. They might belong to a shipwreck. Visitors can be contacted through the dive operators in Vila Franca do Campo: AzoresSub - Dive Center and Espírito Azul - Dive Center. The canons on the islet are part of the Underwater Archaeological Chart of the Azores, considered an example of good practices in the area. The Cultural Subaquatic Heritage of the Azores was also awarded with the European Heritage Label by the European Commission.
