The cane topper attaches securely to a 3/4-inch wooden dowel via a threaded insert and 1/4-20 bolt. Included are a simple plug and a cross plug for easy assembly. To assemble: Insert the threaded insert into the dowel rod, then thread the 1/4-20 bolt into the cane topper and secure it with the included plug. Next, screw the exposed 1/4-20 bolt into the threaded insert, where it will be held firmly in place by the topper's interior design as you tighten.
