This custom clamp holder is designed to meet the short-term storage needs of individuals who rely on white canes for mobility. The clamp securely holds a cane and backpack, attaching firmly to the edge of a table to facilitate easy storage and retrieval in public spaces such as restaurants and classrooms. Originally conceived as a homework assignment for the [Future of Access Technology](https://make4all.org/portfolio/future-access-technology-2019/) class taught by Prof [Jennifer Mankoff](https://make4all.org) at the University of Washington, this clamp has been put to practical use and has proven to be an invaluable convenience for one of its creators, a white cane user. This collaborative project was co-created by [Venkatesh Potluri](https://venkateshpotluri.me) and [Jazz Ang](https://sg.linkedin.com/in/jazz-ang). Customization is key: users will need to edit the code to create a clamp that fits their specific cane, adjusting the *cane_thickness* parameter accordingly. Post-printing, one of the challenges faced was ensuring the clamp held only the cane and not the backpack. To overcome this hurdle, magnets were added to the bottom of the clamp that sits on the table, while anti-slip rubber was applied to prevent slipping or movement.
