Accurate representations of the Canadian Army soldier, detailed at three scales for optimal simulation and game play. The expertly crafted model has been UV-mapped for seamless texture alignment across all facets and features high-quality one-to-one diffuse mapping. This comprehensive design enables users to equip soldiers with optional eye protection in every level and a detachable helmet on each of the initial two levels of detail, with each LOD provided alongside its own model of the standard C7A2 rifle used by the Canadian army. Rigging has only been achieved for the 3D model within Autodesk Maya, using individual biped configurations at every detailed level. Detailed specifications of the high and low-resolution levels of detail are as follows: LOD Level One The character is designed with 2530 polygons and features 5280 vertices, which are organized into 4770 triangles. It incorporates a 2048 x 2048 pixel image for the soldier's texture and includes an optional eye cover as part of the model. A secondary rifle model designed in accordance with military standards also comes equipped within this package, comprised of 560 polygons and 1020 vertices in 520 triangular shapes, displayed over a 512x512 pixel area. LOD Level Two For higher resolution users, level two delivers an improved soldier design made up of 1320 polygons featuring 1240 vertices that contribute to its 2400 triangles. A standard texture mapping approach was used on this version and has maintained the image at the same size as the LOD1 model. Accompanying it is a secondary rifle with its own defined geometry specifications - specifically 290 polygons, 270 vertices contributing to a polygonal mesh in a total of 520 triangular elements, displayed in an unchanged size (512x512). LOD Level Three To create smoother scenes within more powerful engines, users can implement level three - consisting of just 640 triangles and employing around the same number for both polygons and vertex counts - totaling 630, this creates higher poly versions that maintain resolution despite a slightly lowered vertex output to allow more smooth movement through low-light situations when lighting becomes less abundant. To further aid development professionals with project setup, various popular modeling software options have been supported: the full range of CAD tools includes Autodesk 3D Max (V. 2008) FBX (from FB), Collada .flt FLAX OBJ (6) in LWO; note that support extends up until latest stable builds from May - September last year for users opting into specific file paths.
