I purchased one of these side cutter "safety" can openers, and cutting through the rim requires significantly more force than a standard can opener. I'm not physically weak, but I appreciate things being easy, and sometimes operating this opener is a strain that pushes me beyond what's comfortable. So extending the handle for extra leverage seemed like a reasonable solution. The print features some noticeable spring to it and fits securely over the slightly tapered handle while remaining easy to remove. It probably won't fit anything else without making modifications. This can opener came from Amazon, where it is listed as: "ONME Can Opener, Manual Can Jar Opener, Smooth Edge Can Openers, Stainless Steel Can Opener" by ONME for $5.99. 16 grams of ABS plastic, 40 minutes to print, 0.3mm layer height, and a medium fill with a raft are the specifications I used. I design in inches, but if metric software imports a small file, you can try the included Metric .stl instead. The only difference is scaling; use a factor of 25.4 (since there are 25.4 millimeters to the inch).
