can lid
thingiverse
I originally wanted to craft a sign for the can, but ended up with a lid instead. Maybe I'll put the signs up later. The lid isn't quite 100% tight, but it will keep insects and other foreign objects away from its contents. I've tried to make it easily openable without support, so it can be printed efficiently. As seen in the picture and drawings, I've created an inclined surface that runs from the tab to the top edge of the lid. This system pulls the top edge and grips on the inside, making it easier to open the lid. The lid comes in two versions: Lid_5_58.5.stl features 5 grip Ø58.5 and Lid_3_58.5mm.stl boasts 3 grip Ø58.5 The 3-grip version is easy to put on and take off, but doesn't sit as close. Since not all printers and filaments are the same, you may need to increase or decrease the size of the lid accordingly. Have fun printing!
