CAN CANNON STARBURST PELLETS
thingiverse
I'm eager to take my can cannon pellets to the next level. Inspired by an anime called Trigun, I got the notion for something new - a design that draws from the show's concept of stun batons. These long cylinders of unknown material, which open into a large "+" shape as they travel downrange, seemed like the perfect starting point. My aim is to deploy 5 "petals" instead of 4, balancing the design and ensuring a smooth fit in the bore. The first iteration involves a simple fold-open mechanism assisted by a rubber band wrapped around the tabs at the base, while the second version incorporates petals that are shaped to induce spin via airflow, thereby increasing accuracy and stability in flight. Both versions come with support material included in the part/stl files and have performed well so far, but results may vary. If you'd like, I can provide non-support versions upon request. Since I haven't test-fired these yet, I'm unsure if they'll work as planned. Hopefully, better weather is just around the corner, allowing me to launch them and capture it all on video.
