A camshaft, also known as "kam mili" in some languages, is an essential component in the internal combustion engine. It's responsible for opening and closing the engine's intake and exhaust valves at precisely timed intervals during each cylinder's intake and exhaust strokes. This ensures proper fuel-air mixing, efficient combustion, and effective emission control. The camshaft is usually driven by either a timing belt or chain connected to the engine's crankshaft.
