The Storyteller: An Elder's Odyssey An aged man wandered aimlessly within those very woods... He became so disoriented over time that the forest slowly began to inhabit his essence, his habits... The same woods slated for destruction in the imminent future. One day, a laborer discovered the old man standing amidst the forest, his countenance blank, much like an advanced case of dementia. No dwelling existed to which he could return, and townfolk couldn't identify him. Meanwhile, the forest was being felled. With every felled tree, the elderly gentleman weakened further. Not knowing who he was or how he found himself lost once more, surrounded by deathly silence. The lingering remnants of his spirit vanished in that moment; he had become one with the woods. And so it came to pass that on the following eve, where he stood tall, now rose a majestic tree, over 300 years in age. From that day onward, eerie occurrences transpired: workers and campers began vanishing without a trace. Each disappearance corresponded with the emergence of new trees, and the forest grew more formidable. Folk lore speaks to an ominous tale of winter nights when moonlight casts shadows across the clearing. It's said that a dark presence stalks prey behind bushes, feasting on the souls of those who dare venture into these woods.
