Campervan Curtain Glide

I needed replacement curtain glides for my VW Trakka Campervan. The original glides are small and slot directly into the header tape and then into the track. The downside of this design is that the cord of the header tape rubs against the track and eventually breaks. I decided the best way forward was to create a new glide that had an integral loop to allow the use of regular curtain hooks making it easier to remove the curtain if required without having to remove the glides. The track that I have has an internal dimension of 6mm wide by 4.5mm tall. With this in mind I created a glide that had a profile of 5.5mm wide by 4mm tall. The loop has a diameter on 2.5mm and the radius of the curve is 4.75mm. The gap between the loop and the main body of the glider is 3mm giving enough room to insert a curtain hook with a satisfying click and the knowledge that it won't fall out. The overall length of the glide is 12mm.
