Camper Shower Sink
thingiverse
Sharing a single sink in our travel trailer was becoming increasingly frustrating, especially when it was overflowing with dirty dishes but we desperately needed it for brushing teeth or washing hands. A friend of ours suggested that we design a sink to install in our shower stall, where it would take up minimal space and be out of the way since we rarely use the shower in our travel trailer anyway. This custom sink design fills up nearly the entire print bed of my Prusa3D mk2.5 3D printer. I printed it with PETG filament for its superior heat tolerance. To minimize waste, I carefully designed the sink on angles that don't require any supports during printing. A few extra parts are required to get everything working as intended. The water supply was designed specifically for shower head size threads. A standard T-fitting above the faucet handles enables adding a secondary wand for added functionality. The drain threads fit perfectly onto a standard garden hose nozzle, while I included a custom-designed drain plug that fits the specific hose I used. In the printing process, I encountered some minor issues with burned globs in the clear PETG filament, so I ended up using white primer to coat the sink before applying a smooth finish with XTC-3D. This should make it easier to clean and maintain. One final note: we don't plan on drinking from this sink, and I wouldn't recommend doing so either if you decide to print one for yourself. It's perfect for washing hands or rinsing toothpaste down the drain.
